In order to guarantee that all children have the same opportunity to develop and learn, Variety, the Children's Charity of Manitoba helps children who have a lifelong impairment by offering them services and equipment that can change their lives. Our help lessens our Variety families' heavy financial burden because raising a child with a disability costs them 4 to 5 times as much as raising a child without a disability. Every year, we host a few events, and many businesses give goods or auction packages that must be picked up. After the events are over, we also provide delivery of the auction items to the buyers.
Role responsibility:
Variety is looking for volunteers who have a vehicle and are willing to pick up or drop off these items at different points throughout the year. Because we won't need to engage a delivery service or have the things sent to our offices, this will help Variety keep costs down.
Required skills:
- Volunteers must be licensed to drive in Manitoba and/or possess a current drivers license.
- Volunteers are need to own a dependable vehicle.
- The volunteer must be kind and courteous.
Time commitment:
The majority of establishments allow pick-ups and deliveries during regular business hours. There may also be opportunities on the weekend, though.
